Have you ever felt like you are not measuring up in your walk with the Lord? Do you feel a bit left out of the spirituality game? Have you felt really close to God even when you have not read your Bible? Do you love Jesus but have an aversion to all the tidy formula’s for following him?
I raise my hand to all of these questions and wonder out loud, “how do I follow God within the context of who I am?”
We have great examples of saint of old and great leaders of today that are passionate about their walk with the Lord. They spend hours a day praying, reading the Word, fasting, taking times of solitude, and doing in depth study.
Those are great examples, but what about spirituality for the rest of us that are normal and think an hour of solitude is akin to nails on a chalkboard?
Explore with us this summer that there just might not be a cookie cutter way of following Christ and that God the father relates to each of us in a distinct and fresh way. We will turn and look at God and not the expectations of men as it pertains to practices of spirituality. We desire to be passionate about being fully devoted to Christ and this will be a great summer of devotion.
Join us as we pursue Christ.
Just a reminder that this Sunday we are not having a service at the church building on July 5. We are going to be the church at the Bluff Apartment complex. Just down the road from the church on the left is the entrance and we will be meeting near building H. We going to be guests of Brian and Michelle McMahon and going to hang out with our neighbors. Bring a folding chair and any yard games you would like to play. See you there at 10:30 and we will start the hotdogs at 11:00.
