Why Taco Palm Sunday? No there is not any hidden scripture about Carne Asada. I just could think of no better way to celebrate the life of Christ then in community with friends around a spread of tacos. I think if Jesus lived today he would want this as his last meal.
You see Jesus entered the town of his death some 2000 years ago. The people waved their palm branches and laid their coats on the road as the King rode into town. This was a week of teaching.. a week of confronting…a week of putting the final pieces of the puzzle together. This was the week of his death.
But it was also a week of celebration. Celebrating the life he lived..celebrating years of community and friendship..remembering the great things that took place..looking back, but also looking forward.
This Palm Sunday lets celebrate what Jesus has done in our lives as we partake in communion together around the table full of tacos. Gather with us at 10:30 and start the week of Easter off right with a little hot sauce.

We just went live with our new website layout and design this last weekend.  The address is  www.southeverett.org .  This site is more blog and interaction driven.  You can stream the weekend messages or if you right click you can download them.  You can also make comments and share your thoughts about the message for others to see.

The thing I am most excited about is that you can get the blogs, messages, and announcements directly sent to your email.  Once a day (if there is new information) you will receive the content.  Put your email in the top right box and you will be sent a confirmation to sign up (it sometimes goes to your junk box so look for it).  This is the best way to make sure you are staying up to date on the information being sent out.

For those that are not internet connected (that isn’t you) we will do a monthly ‘blog in print’.  This will have a sampling of what is online as well as the upcoming events, prayer request, and information specifically for our church family (that doesn’t need to be for the world to see).  This print piece will also replace our weekly bulletin.

Just read this morning in the Everett Herald that Katie Benson was the women’s basketball player of the year.  I have gotten to know Katie a bit from Foursquare gatherings. She attends Clearview Foursquare Church in Snohomish. She also has some great parents.  If we all could have a little perspective and balance like her we might have a better world. Great job Katie.
